Full Colour & Root Colour

If you want to change, deepen or refresh your overall shade, a Full Colour service may be the right place to start. From semi-permanent to permanent pigment, colour can create consistent shade from roots to tips.

But achieving beautiful, even colour isn't as simple as applying the same formula everywhere. Your natural roots, grey hair, previously coloured lengths and more porous ends may each respond to colour differently.

Our experienced colourists take all of this into account, adjusting the formula or the application as needed. The goal isn't simply to cover your hair with colour. It's to create richness and consistency while protecting the condition of your hair.

Once you have a colour you love, a Root Colour service can maintain it as new growth comes in, colouring just the roots. If the rest of your colour needs refreshing, your colourist may recommend a gloss or another targeted service instead.

Highlights & Lowlights

Highlights and lowlights are used to create contrast and dimension. Using the same colour principles as drawing on a canvas or contouring with makeup, light brings forward, dark recedes.

Highlights lift and brighten. Lowlights add dimension with contrast. Used together, they can create a beautifully balanced, natural-looking result with light and depth exactly where they're needed.

Placement is where the artistry comes in. Your colourist considers your natural base colour, your eyes, cheekbones, jawline, how your hair moves and where your hair naturally catches the light. Strategic placement around the face can create a subtle contouring effect, while colour throughout the hair adds movement and dimension.

Whether you need Full, Half-Head, Partial or Hairline Highlights or Money Piece depends on where your colour is now, how much new growth you have and how long it has been since your last colour service. You won't necessarily need the same highlighting service at every appointment. Your colourist will recommend the ideal timeframe between visits and let you know what you're likely to be due for next so you can maintain your colour without doing more than your hair needs.

Balayage

Balayage creates a softer, more blurred appearance, with colour gradually blending into your natural or base shade. The result feels more subtle and lived-in rather than bright and blingy vs fresh highlights.

And balayage doesn't mean going blonde. A brunette might add warm caramel or toffee tones through the ends and around the face, creating dimension without ever becoming blonde.

Balayage can contour the face. By placing lighter tones around the cheekbones, jawline, the colour draws attention to your facial features and complements the flow of your hairstyle.

Because balayage grows out softly, maintaining the look doesn't necessarily mean a full service every visit. If this is your first balayage, we recommend starting with a Full Balayage so your colourist has the freedom to create the overall placement and dimension. Future appointments can often alternate between Partial and Full Balayage, refreshing the areas that need attention while maintaining the look you've already created.

Blonde & Lightening Services

Blonde ambition? How light you can go, and how quickly, depends on your current shade and the condition of your hair. Virgin hair behaves very differently from hair that has been previously coloured or lightened. Your colourist will consider your chemical service history and the health of your hair before determining the best approach.

Sometimes the blonde you want can be achieved in one visit. Other transformations are better approached gradually. A natural looking, healthy blonde is always the goal, so we won't sacrifice the integrity of your hair just to get lighter faster.

Following your service, your colourist will recommend a touch-up schedule based on your natural colour, how quickly your darker roots become visible and how much visible regrowth works with your style. A high-contrast blonde that you prefer to keep bright to the root will need more frequent maintenance vs a look designed to accommodate some natural root.

Toner

Lightening the hair and creating the final tone are two different things. After a lightening service, a toner can further refine the colour to a cool, creamy, beige or more neutral blonde.

Over time, that toner gradually fades and warmer tones can reappear. If your blonde is still light enough and you're otherwise happy with your colour, a Toner service can refresh the tone without repeating the entire lightening service.

Shinefinity Gloss

Sometimes you want your colour to look fresh again. A gloss tretment a great option when your colour has started to look a little dull, but you're not ready for a larger colour service.

A Shinefinity treatment adds shine while subtly refreshing the tone of your hair. It can bring richness back to brunette or red tones, enhance your natural colour, or simply give the hair a healthier, more polished appearance. Because the effect is subtle, a gloss is also a beautiful option when you want to experiment with tone without making a major colour change.

Elumen Hair Colour

Elumen gives our colourists another way to create brilliant, long-lasting colour without relying on traditional oxidative hair colour.

Unlike conventional permanent colour, Elumen is non-oxidative and formulated without peroxide or ammonia. Instead, it uses patented magnetic technology to draw colour pigments deep into the hair, producing intense colour and exceptional shine while helping support the hair's structure.

That's one reason we particularly love Elumen for Creative Colour. Creating vivid shades may first require lightening the hair to create a clean canvas. Once we've achieved that starting point, Elumen allows us to deposit rich, vibrant colour without introducing another oxidative process.

Elumen may also be an option for clients who have experienced sensitivity to traditional professional hair colour or who specifically want to avoid ammonia and peroxide.

Creative Colour

Want pink hair? A bold red? Or a pop of unexpected colour that is completely your own? Creative Colour is where hair colour becomes a form of self-expression.

Creating these colours often requires more than simply applying the shade you see in an inspiration photo. Depending on your starting colour, we may first need to lighten the hair to create a clean canvas that allows brighter, more vibrant shades to show.

Because that lightening process can already place additional demands on the hair, our Colour Master Technicians pay close attention to hair integrity throughout the transformation. For many Creative Colour services, we love working with Elumen, a permanent colour system that creates intense, vibrant colour without peroxide or ammonia.

Creating vivid shades may first require lightening the hair to create a clean canvas. Once we've achieved that starting point, Elumen allows us to deposit rich, vibrant colour without introducing another oxidative process.

Creative shades can also fade and change differently from traditional hair colours, so we'll talk with you about maintenance and what to expect before you commit to the change.

A separate consultation is required before your first Creative Colour service. Bring your inspiration photos so we can see exactly what you're envisioning, assess your starting point and develop a plan to get you there.

Colour Correction

Colour Correction is used for complex colour situations.

Maybe a home colour turned out much darker than expected or you have bands of colours from repeated box dyes, or you're simply trying to transition from a colour you no longer want to something very different.

Corrective colour requires advanced knowledge of color chemistry to figure out the safest path forward to get your hair where you want it to be.

Your colourist will assess your existing colour, previous chemical services, porosity and condition before determining what needs to be removed, neutralized, darkened, lightened or balanced.

Some corrections can be accomplished in one appointment. More complicated transformations may need to happen over several visits. We'll be realistic about what your hair can safely handle and develop a plan that moves you toward your goal without sacrificing hair integrity.

 

Men’s Hair Colour

For men, hair colour is often less about changing your look and more about solving a problem.

If grey is the concern, our colourists have a good eye for how much coverage is enough. You may want to soften the grey rather than eliminate it completely, keeping enough variation that the result looks natural and never like an obvious attempt to cover your grey.

Colour can also be helpful when hair is beginning to feel thinner, particularly on top. A colour service can give the hair cuticle more texture and body, helping fine hair appear fuller, give your haircut more visual density, and help your hair better hold a style.

This gives your colourist the opportunity to properly assess your hair, exchange ideas, and develop a plan before reserving the time needed for your colour service.
