Meloo Salon is built around a structured approach to hair, with a focus on consultation, precision, and consistent results. Founded by Carmen Commisso, the salon evolved from Hair Xtacy, which originally opened in 1991, into Meloo Salon in 2025. The rebrand created a clear separation from the training academy and established the salon as a more focused, high-standard environment. Today, that structure supports both experienced stylists and the next generation developing through the academy.

Our Story

Meloo is a name with personal significance. It comes from Melo, the nickname of Carmelo Commisso, father of salon owner Carmen Commisso.

Carmelo opened his first salon in 1973, helping shape a family legacy of over 100 hairdressers across Canada and influencing Carmen’s path into the industry from a young age.

Carmen went on to become an artistic director, open Hair Xtacy Salon, and launch a training academy for the next generation of stylists. His work has earned industry recognition, including Ontario Champion (1980), Canadian Champion (1999), and Editorial Stylist of the Year (2010).

Hair Xtacy Salon was later renamed Meloo in Carmelo's memory. The name represents a standard of precision and consistency that continues to define the craft today.

Our work at Meloo spans hair colour, precision cutting, texture, and scalp-focused services.

From dimensional colour and advanced blonding to cuts designed for shape and movement, each service is tailored to how your hair naturally behaves. Our team also works across all hair types and textures, including curly and coily hair, with techniques that support natural pattern and manageability.

Scalp health is part of the process as well, with treatments designed to cleanse, rebalance, and support stronger, healthier hair over time.

Master Colour Technicians

Our colour work is led by Master Colour Technicians, specialists in the art and science of hair colour. Every colour service is approached with detail and individuality, with a focus on creating colour that looks natural, wears well, and maintains its integrity between visits.

Hair Xtacy Academy

Meloo is also home to a working training environment, where the next generation of stylists develop their skills under the guidance of our senior team.
